The Party Spirit
Seaside Festival of Fun
This year’s Seaside Festival of Fun once again attracted crowds from far and near! We were the main sponsor for this event which took place in (literally) and around Maryport harbour.
Swashbucklers roamed the town and cheered encouragement to those participating in the raft race, trawler race and lawnmower races, to name but a few.

The musical element of the event featured a variety of shanty singers and was headlined by ‘The Tremeloes’. Next year’s festival will tie-in with the nationwide Sea Britain 2005 event which is a celebration of the 200 year anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Here’s hoping one of our rafts can take the chequered flag next year!
Maryport Bitter & Blues Festival
Four times Grammy Winner, Buddy Guy, made his Maryport debut as top of the bill at the ‘Bitter and Blues Festival’ - 30th July to 1st August.
Supporting Buddy was an array of Blues singers from the UK, the USA and even Australia.
Five lucky winners from CSF received free tickets to the main event with 10 others receiving trail wristbands which gave free access to participating pubs.
CSF Summer Party
Rather than restricting our party time to the festive period, we held a Summer Party in June at Grasslot Club. Over 200 members of staff attended the party. They danced the night away to music from Fast Forward Experience and a pies, peas and gravy supper provided dancers with a much needed energy boost!
A raffle was held which included items such as a microwave, DVD player, Hi-Fi, dinner service and gift vouchers to name but a few. Over £780 was raised for the MacMillan Cancer Fund..
