Award winning smoked salmon- GRANTS TRIUMPH!
On 8th June, the annual British Frozen Food Federation Awards was held. This recognised the very best in quality and product development within the frozen food industry.
Grants' frozen foodservice product- "Mini Smoked Salmon Skewer Selection"- received a silver award for "Best New Starter".

The product (pictured above) consists of strips of Scottish salmon, hand rolled around individual cocktail sticks in 4 varieties: green olive; black olive; honey & mustard seed and marinade; and gravadlax.
All products entered were judged by representatives of the Craft Guild of Chefs who, as executives chefs, catering managers and recipe developers, are experts in their field and uncompromising in their assessment of the entries.
Taste, appearance, recipe, integrity, product dependability and ease of preparation were some of the considerations taken into account when marked by the panel of judges.

New Product
Mediterranean Cod Fishcakes with Red Pepper Sauce
(pic. right) is our 4th product to have launched with Tesco Finest Team. Comprising of 2 fishcake cores, coated in a coriander batter and finished off with a pot of red pepper sauce.
New Packaging
Labels and sleeves for the chilled cabinet have undergone a redesign and are to roll-out in stores this month.

Product Launches
This month saw the launch of Beer Battered Haddock and mini seafood sticks and dip.
The Beer Battered Haddock (pic. left) consists of two prime skinless and boneless line caught haddock from the clear waters of Iceland. Coated in a crispy batter made with real ale.
The mini seafood sticks is made from Surimi fish protein with added water, wheat starch and crab flavouring served with a Marie rose seafood dip.
As well as the new products, all shellfish lines have had their labels redesigned.
