Cumberland Cold Storage: A Winning Team
The smoked mackerel range produced for Morrison’s by Cumberland Cold Storage won best Fish product at the North West Fine Foods Awards. Not only did it receive this accolade, but it was the category winner for ‘Fish’ as a whole.
One of the judges, Edwin Booth, chairman of Booths Supermarkets said: “It’s an exceptionally fine quality fish - very plumptious!”
Congratulations to the staff at CCS whose hard work and dedication to producing truly excellent products have been recognised by independent, qualified judges.
Exciting Time for Tesco
Label Redesign
Tesco has recently introduced a new label design across the chilled fish catalogue. The range of labels have been designed to offer a corporate look yet allow each product to be easily identified.
Shelf-Ready Packaging
Surimi products and prawn cocktails are now despatched in outer packaging to enable Tesco staff to easily stack them on shelves. For example, surimi is sent out in a shrink-wrapped cardboard box. Store staff can remove the shrink-wrap and then drop the box into the well of the fish cabinet.
NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Finest
In September we launched Tesco Finest Beer Battered Cod with Parsley Mayonnaise. This product is high focus within Tesco: indeed, “Good Housekeeping” and “Essentials” magazines reviewed the product and Tesco featured it in its in-store magazine and in-store posters.
