EFSIS Update
All 5 Cumbrian Seafoods sites have now been audited by EFSIS and
passed with top level accreditation.
Border Laird's first EFSIS audit was rewarded with a Grade B and our main site - CSF Maryport- recently passed with a grade A.
Tesco
Next month will see the introduction of several new products including an additional Finest product.
Fish Cabinet
Tesco fish cabinet will be launching the following 3 new products: lightly dusted plaice; breaded lemon sole; and hot and spicy prawns.
5 existing lines will be increasing their pack weights in October. They will be: lightly dusted lemon sole, scampi, breaded queen scallops, breaded lemon sole goujons and battered calamari.
Finest
We are to launch Finest Salmon and Prawn Fishcakes with sour cream and chive dip (pictured right) in conjunction with Finest convenience team. The fishcakes consist of salmon and prawn combined with sweet chilli sauce, potato, herbs and spices, and finally finished off with a sour cream and chive dip.
Morrisons
October will see the launch of 4 new products, with two under "The Best" brand.
Product Launches
Morrisons have expanded their "The Best" range with the introduction of two new lines: The Best Easy Peel Tiger Prawns with Garlic and Cayenne Butter and The Best Oriental Thai Fishcakes with Sweet Chilli Dip.
The Best Easy Peel Tiger Prawns (pictured right) are
harvested and prepared by hand with an easy peel shell, served with a spicy cayenne pepper and garlic butter.
The Best Oriental Thai Fishcakes with Sweet Chilli Dip (pictured left), is made up of 4 fishcakes containing prawns, potato, white crab meat and Thai spices, coated in a light and crispy tempura style batter, served with a sweet chilli dip.
In addition to the two "The Best" products being launched, lightly dusted lemon sole and 4 Favourites cod fishcakes will be present in the fish cabinet from late-October.
