Cumbrian Seafoods (Whitehaven)

Cumbrian Seafoods (Whitehaven) is a primary processor and smoker of pelagic fish. It has hot and cold smoking facilities as well as automated and manual filleting lines.

It is based in Whitehaven 15 miles south of Maryport, and is in close proximity to shoaling mackerel at a time of the year when their oil content is ideally suited to the smoking process.

WhitehavenA trading partnership with Cumbrian Seafoods started in 1999 and the company became part of the group in February 2002. Retail supply started later that same year, after achieving Higher level EFSIS accreditation. In 2004, it was voted North West Fine Food Producer of the Year for the quality of its hot smoked mackerel.
